💕 About Me
Hey babes, welcome to Simple Medicine! 💕
First, I just want to say thank you. Whether you've been here since the beginning or you just stumbled across this little corner of the internet, I'm so grateful you're here. Your support, encouragement, and kind words mean more to me than you know.
Simple Medicine has been on my heart since my freshman year of college. I always knew I wanted to create a space where I could inspire, educate, and connect with others pursuing careers in healthcare. During COVID, I finally found the time and courage to bring that dream to life. Since then, this website has continued to grow alongside me, and honestly, so have I.
🌱 What is Simple Medicine?
Simple Medicine isn't just a blog. It's my journey. A place where I share the real, unfiltered experience of chasing one of the biggest dreams of my life: becoming a physician. This isn't a success story from someone who's already reached the finish line. It's the story of someone who's still climbing. I'm learning, growing, making mistakes, celebrating wins, facing setbacks, and figuring it all out one step at a time, and I want to bring you along with me. If you're looking for someone honest about the highs, the lows, and everything in between, you're in the right place.
🤍 My Story
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to work in healthcare. That dream eventually led me to attend The University of Alabama, where I earned my bachelor's degree. Like many students, my journey wasn't perfect. I experienced academic challenges, moments of self-doubt, and plenty of obstacles that forced me to grow into a stronger and more resilient person.
Instead of giving up on my dream, I kept moving forward. I chose to continue my education by earning my master's degree in Population Health, where I developed a deeper understanding of health disparities, prevention, and the social factors that influence the health of entire communities. Today, I work as a medical assistant, gaining hands-on clinical experience while continuing to prepare for the next chapter in medical school.
Every patient, every class, every challenge, and every lesson reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.
🌍 My Why
Coming from a small town has shaped the way I see healthcare.
I've witnessed how limited access to healthcare, education, and resources can affect entire families and communities. That's why my dream extends beyond becoming a physician. I hope to serve communities that have historically been underserved, improve health education, advocate for preventative medicine, and help reduce healthcare disparities, especially within Black and Brown communities. Medicine isn't just a career to me.
It's my purpose.

If you're reading this because you're overwhelmed... Because you're doubting yourself... Because your GPA isn't perfect... Because the MCAT has you questioning everything... Because you feel like everyone else is ahead of you... I want you to know something. You don't have to have a perfect journey to become an incredible physician.
I created Simple Medicine because I needed someone to remind me that progress matters more than perfection.

Whatever brought you here, I hope this space reminds you that you're capable of more than you think. So grab your favorite drink, get comfortable, and stay awhile.
