Making friends is really important in college. It will make you more personable, and social behavior is a major asset when applying to medical schools. Ever hear the phrase "It's not what you know, it's who you know?" This is a big deal in medicine. You can be presented with a lot of opportunities once you put yourself out there.

The most crucial aspect of networking is building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with people.

Let's look at how helpful our friends are. Friends enter our lives for a variety of reasons; some might even argue that they end up becoming family. While I still have some friends who live in my hometown, I have made some of my best and closest friends while in college. I'm so appreciative to have these people in my life because they've never done anything but bring me comfort and occasionally even inspiration. It is always a good idea to choose the right kind of friends, and as a pre-med, it is very advantageous to have people who are self-motivated, determined, and who know how to separate fun and study time. Sometimes we may not even be aware of how much our friends shape who the person that we are.

Friends can encourage and support you, but they can also impact your academic performance. That's why It is crucial to pick the right friends that fit your lifestyle.

GO OUT AND SOCIALIZE

Don't research your potential friends; instead, keep your heart open. Go do things YOU enjoy doing; I'm not sure what it is, but perhaps a small smile can trigger one.

Talk to the individuals seated next to you. Create or oversee study groups. Stop spending time with those you believe to be negative influences.

Join clubs! Don't just limit yourself only to pre-med allow yourself to find clubs that interest you.

I advise becoming a member of student organizations, getting a part-time job, or starting study groups with your classmates. A great way to start is to join Groupme. To be honest, nothing makes you feel closer to someone than sharing your suffering. I met my current best friend through my school's residential living, which may be a wonderful way to meet others with similar interests. You can also consider joining a fraternity or sorority as well. You'll meet a ton of new individuals who you can hang out with and build a tight bond with.

Last but not least, don't be afraid to put yourself out there because you never know what you might discover. It's better to know now than to constantly wonder what if I had done something since you only have one life to live. So make sure you live it to the fullest and experience new things and new people.
